What do I need to be able to window a TV picture on a single monitor/PC?

I know an All in wonder would work but is that the only way?

if you're not doing fancy stuff like hdtv just get a hauppage or similar pci tv card - works fine just run the cable to the pc - i have 1 hauppage and 1 something else that I paid 35-40 for used a while ago and they both work fine

usb 2.0 stuff is probably not going to work as well

Yeah I have a Leadtek Winfast XP tv card and it does a good job and is pretty cheap to buy. You can watch TV and record shows just like a TIVO with it and just about any other TV Capture card.

I'm curious, why would anyone want to watch TV on a PC when there's always a TV nearby?

I used to wonder the same thing until I got one as a gift. Now I use it more than I ever thought I would. Like when I am wanting to watch someone and am chatting on an IM. I find myself watching TV more on my computer than on the TV, when a commercial comes on I surf then when shows starts am back to watching TV. Also is nice to be able to use computer as a recording device to save favorite shows or movies.

Thanks for the replies.

Is there a certain Hz rating I need for the splitter? That's presuming I'll have to run a split off of my cable to the cable modem and the TV card.
