School me on these, i want to record music videos off the tv onto my computer and this looks great. The problem is i dont know which one to choose. Can anyone reccommend one particularly? The final output will be on DVD but i'd prefer to capture in a uncompressed format if possible....so yah, which ones are good which have amazing audio and video quality.

Thanks!!

I had a Pinicale PCTV , the software for it was very buggy although ti worked. The card died in under two years. Using a Leadtek Winfast 2000 now. Cheap and has worked great for me so far.

Most tv tuners have only stereo sound, not 4 channel or better sound. I tried a stereo one and it sounded fine. But I have a win tv theatre pci tuner that has dolby 5.1 and wow what a difference. If you have at least 4 speakers anyway. You get far better and noticable seperation.

Bad thing is most that have 4 channel or better are more expensive. Usually the included software isn't too good either. Best I've tried for recording is power vcr and windvr. Then I have to use another app called TMPG DVD authoring for encoding to DVD.

The pci hauppauge card I have is older and uses the older 8 bit chip. Look for ones using the newer 10 bit chip for better tv quality. Wish I could suggest one to you. Just check the ones at newegg and search for reviews on them.
