bios flashing catastrophe

tried flashing the bios on my msi neo 2 and trashed the board i have no idea what went wrong. update prog said bios written sucessfully then it restarted no nothing after that. the bios recovery function didnt work eithier. rma'd it. this sucks. least i got my trusty laptop.

I'm really sorry to hear that.

Luckily I've never had a problem with flashing a BIOS, if I ever do, I will probably just order a replacement chip for the board instead of RMAing it.. hehe..

But most of my boards are over a year old so I wouldn't have much of a choice. :B

the chip is soldered in so that wasnt an option

Bah. soldered in means nothing! Just a little extra time in replacing. What I have seen in the past after a successful flash is sometimes a cmos clear will remedy the problem. Could try it before you ship it off.

yes, that is true but i got my new board already up and running. why solder in a new chip when its still under warrenty?

i tried clearing it many times with and without the battery.

heh ah well then, I wouldnt solder in a new chip if it was under warranty either!
