Xtra Mem Timings With Bios Update
I have upgraded my bios and ended up with some new settings. Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, 3000+ 1.8g@2.1g. Before I updated my bios there were only the typical settings in the memory department, now there are four more: TRC,TRFC,TWR,TRWT? I have them set to auto for now because I dont what they are supposed to be set at. I never messed round with mem timings much b 4. Using TwinX 1024 c2pt with timings of 2-3-3-6 1T, v-dimm:2.75. If I turn the cas to 2.5 I can reach a higher clock but it seems to me like that would be defeating the purpose. I looked for some forums on corsair mem and could find nothing on these settings that could lead me in the right direction. Everyone over at anandtech says that I should reach clock speeds of 2.3g or higher but I have been unsuccesful. I am using the factory heatS/F so I didnt want to raise the v-core too much. The athlon xp's were said to be safe up to 70c but Im hearing that the a 64's should be kept under 55c. If I raise the htt up to 245, I have to up the core v up to 1.58 to get it to be stable but end up with a temp of 52c, is this normal? I will problably install a zalman next weekend so the temp should drop. Also the pci-x clock speed is set to 100mhz, should I set it higher? PNY 6600gt clocked at 515mhz core, 1.15ghz mem.
I really would recommend better cooling for the A64... as for temps... mine runs in the mid to upper 50's at full load. I don't thing there's any problems running A64's at 1.75v.
