can't get monitor to work now

Hi Ya'll

Well I think I must have done something to my friends computer and I can't for the world figure it out. Firstly I upgraded her RAM. She has an email machine that came with 32 RAM then she had someone install 64. She just got 128 mgs RAM. I removed the 32 RAM and put in the 128 mgs and left the 64 mgs in. When we hooked up the computer again the monitor won't come on. Well the green light flashes then blinks a yellow.

I tried plugging into the elctric outlet directly and 2 different sites - no avail. HOWEVER, when the monitor is not plugged into the CPU the monitor comes on and says there is no cable connection.

What I am wondering should I have left in the original 32 mgs in where it was and removed the 64 and put in the 128. I can't figure why that would have an effect with the monitor but then what do I know?

I obviously have messed up somehow. HELP!

Thank you in advance for any help

well, wrong forum, but first things first
1. return ram to original configuration
if computer boots, then you troble shoot from there
maybe the 128 stick is bad, or the two sticks dont like each other

what Billy Goat said - sounds like the change in ram is preventing the computer from posting at all - in other words it ain't even kicking over...start there and work back wards by returning everything to the way it was. If it boots ok and the monitor comes up, then try replacing the exisiting ram with only the new stick ...if it won't boot, there's your problem

look at the markings on the ram and make sure that they are the same....if you still have a problem post more info about the system and the ram, etc., and we'll help you sort it out
