Opening attachments from Hotmail

Hi all, new to this forum.
Is anyone else having a problem opening attachments from Hotmail?? It's quite clearly a Microsoft problem, but is very bugging. On Win XP, if you clear down the cache/history/cookies twice, then re-enter the browser and attempt to download attachments you are able to. However, performing the same process on a Win 2K machine does not work.
Anyone else heard/having the same problem and any suggestions??
