Just got me a new laptop.
Gateway 7405GX
3200+ A64
512 2700 ddr
80g
radeon 9600 64mb
wireless
Nice screen
8x dvdrw+/-
$1250!
also got the warranty from bestbuy...so when I break it, it is taken care of.
My first new Laptop.
Hay, my first legit copy of XP. lol

IM really diging the screen. damn bright, and shiny. more like a crt then an lcd. it doesnt havethe normal Mat finish like most lcd's

the emachine version of this lappy had a 60g hd, and a crappier screen...oh, and cost $50 more. LOL but basically it is the same system. which is good, because it got Great reviews. I was kind of looking at the 3400+ version as it had 1g of memory and ofcourse the extra 200mhx, but they downgraded the videocard. Give me a break.

I just got it last night.....havent done too much putzing around with it yet. removed all the dumb software it comes with and configured a few other things...thats about it so far.

Greg: You might want to look into a program called Speedswitch XP. It may work on the A64 but it may not. It helps get you the maximum battery life. I found it to be better than Microsoft's implementation of the technology. Here's the website:

Viperoni, I am telling you, this laptop has goten very good reviews.
rez is 1280 * 800 not that great, but good enough...with the screen being very crisp!

Have you tryed newer games on it yet? If I opt to buy another new laptop to replace my old one, I'd want one capable of playing modern games. There are times when that'd come in handy.
