I'm in the market for a new FP monitor. Looking for an 18 inch or bigger. I know the lower the response time the better. What are the minimum specs for contrast ratio and brightness?
Any oppinions on
this one?
Thanks

Contrast Ratio: 450:1
Response Time: 12 ms
Unless you're a FPS gamer or watch a lot of movies on your comp, response time isn't that big a deal, but that monitor has 12 which is currently pretty much as low as it gets. Contrast ratio is a tad low but should be fine. Seems to be getting great reviews on that site. Viewsonic makes beautiful monitors, if I was in the market that one would definately be on my list of ones to check out, especially since it's 19". Maybe go to a local store and see it in person to help you decide...
edit: oh yeah, just checked and it has Digital DVI, wow that's one nice monitor. From what I've read DVI looks much better than the old analog connection...

It will be used for mostly games and a few, umm, "videos".
What would be a kick ass contrast ratio?
Thanks for the reply tunis5000.

Bargain on the princetons lately. I have a 25ms Samsung, I notice some ghosting/smearing on a few games but none on movies or my tv card.
