Hey guys! New here...and have a problem. I'll start by giving some info about my PC...
eMachines T2200
Athlon XP 2200, VIA VT8235 Chipset, ECS L7VMM2 MoBo
ok,it all started when i wanted to overclock the chip. I couldnt find the options to change the freq. and volt. in my BIOS, but my MoBo manual said i can. so i figured maybe i need to update my BIOS, so i got a newer version from the manufacturer and used Winflash. all went well, it said everything was successfully updated and asked me to reboot. But once i rebooted it, no video, no POST, the keyboard (usb) doesnt come on...The fans run, and the HD comes on.
I tried resetting the CMOS by jumping it, no luck...i took out the battery and let it sit for about an hour and a half, still no luck. Tried it with my AGP card and the built-in vid card. nothing worked...Im kinda lost here, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you usually can't flash an emachines unless it's with their "special" bios.

did you try unplugging the machine, taking the cmos battery out, and waiting for about 30 minutes.
reinstalling the battery, and powering up ?

tried it...still the same thing...anyway, i've given up tryin to OC the chip. im just trying to get it working now. so how do i go about writing the old BIOS back?

At this point i think it requires a special machine... or a new bios chip.

see if the manufacturer has a faild bios flash utility on their site.

thnks for the help guys...i checked with my local computer store and sadly they dont have the programmer to the chip. i have a willem eprom programmer, for which im gonna buy an adapter for the plcc chip or try and get someone else to burn me one. if any of you can burn me one, i can pay.
in the meantime, i got an ASRock K7S41GX to replace it. its been pretty good except for one problem, i've made a thread in the video cards section about it.

Hi quicksilvr , I had the same thing happen to me 3 weeks ago or so...
It was a bad flash so I ordered a new bios chip from badflash

check them out they were great to deal with and free shipping ...I live in Canada so It cost me a bit more on duty and taxes $9.80 I think?...the new chip is $24.99 with free shipping...takes 3-5 business days to get it mine shipped on a friday and I got it on the next Friday and like I said Im in Canada they are in NY state...
it was worth it to me then I did a "hot swap" and re programmed the old bios chip to the new bios revision and both are working so I have an extra chip now ....I think it will work on any asus motherboard so thats handy...

oh and quicksilvr make sure you know what bios chip you have and what kind of motherboard etc...you need to have all the info correct to order from them....
you can email them and ask questions etc... before ordering...
I dont know about emachines etc.. so check that out...
