What do you guys think of hercules PSUs as far as reliability and voltage stability?

Never heard of it myself. I like the Antec True Power line of PSUs. Very quiet, rock stable.

I got a 400w one with a case I bought and just thought someone would know about it.

You can try to do some Google searches to see if you find any reviews.

General rule of thumb I use is weight. GOOD PSUs are heavy (bigger heatsink = better voltage regulation). Good quality PSUs generally weigh more than 3 pounds.

For example good quality Enermax and Antec 400 watt PSUs weigh in at about 4 pounds.

Also I wouldn't even bother using a PSU if it didn't have 2 fans (one on the back and one inside). Single fan units are cheapies.
