fan controller question..

I am in the process of installing a fan controller in my computer. The controller came with four sensors hookups: HDD, CPU, Case and Power Supply. Is there a particular spot that is better than others to place the sensors to get a good reading? Or is anywhere on the device good? Thanks for any assistance.

For the cpu, if the wires are thin enough (like most from thermaltake are), then it's best to place that sensor under the cpu, threading the 2 thin wires between the cpu pins. If not, then as close to the actual cpu core and touching it (but NOT on it). If it doesn't get in the way of the heatsink not making full contact with the cpu core. Some sensors have the wires too thick for either method. This all depends what cpu you have also. Otherwise, just slide it down one of the heatsink fins.

Gotta be care for the methods I mentioned above, for obvious reasons. Except the last one.

For a HDD, I'd place it on one of the chips underneath, the hottest one. For the case, that's up to you, but I'd suggest somewherre near the top, away from the cpu. For the PSU, anywhere on top, I'd guess.

welcome to pca :) >?
