I maybe smoking crack....
When I go there it will only let me check 1x on 1x DVDs...
I would like to burn them at 2x which my DVDburner can do.

I have done this before ... you have to uncheck something (that Im a dooof and cant find) which will allow me to burn faster then the media rating.

Lots of ify stuff with DVDs.

Depending on your burner and firmware you may be able to burn some 1x DVDs at 2X but not others.
DVD Rs have a speed code written in the media codes which the burners read. If your firmware says burn a Leda 1x disk at 1x then I don't think Nero can over rule that and write any faster, not sure though. I hate nero for DVDs and never use it. I must admit though I developed the hated opion a few versions back with nero and never upgraded to the newer versions, maybe they are better. Still use it for CDs alot though. Sometimes data dvd, but never video dvd's.

Sometimes you can upgrade your drive firmware with factory or a hacked firmware and be able to write a 1x disk at 2x or 2x disk at 4x. Some burners will even write some disks at a faster speed than rated by default because the firmware aloughs it.

With cd's I have always just selected fastest/maximum and a 16x cd will burn around 24x and 32x disks about 48x, but that doesn't work for DVD R disks. :(
