So I had to send out a drive as a RMA...

WD 40gb 5400 drive, I did advanced so they ship first, well I received the drive today, and I received a 160gb 8mb 7200!
It is a referb drive though, checked online for it " In Limited Warranty 12/23/2004 "

warranty might be extended once you return yours. WD does that sometimes

WD shipping screwed up, I got someone elses RMA. the # on the paperwork that was shipped isn't mine, I checked online the serial that they say was shipped to me is a 40, not the 160... so they messed up

well, you could call them and let them know and see if they will let you keep it, or just rma your drive and have that be that.

yeah, I sent them the 40 now, and I will hold on to the 160, if they call asking for it I will send it back as long as they pay all the shipping, but for now I will keep quiet

About a month ago I sent in a defective 60 gig to WD and it took them a little over 4 weeks to send me a replacement ,
BUT , they sent me 2 - 60 gig hard drives as a replacement

ok, really odd....
my mom called me today and said I have a package from western digital....
so I am like ok, I will come get it.
So I open it and it looks to be the 40 that I sent to them originaly, and it says recetified on it, I checked the serial and it is out of warenty still....
I guess I will fire it up and see what happens.....

I sent them a 60GB drive for RMA once, 5400RPM 2MB cache they returned an 80GB 7200RPM 8MB cache
