Welcome to PCA

Problems with AMD? None that I am aware of unless you consider more bang for your buck a problem. I have a system very close to what you spec'ed out and have no issues at all. Runs plenty fast and is rock stable I think you will be just fine with that AMD set up.

I have the 2500+ chip and it run hot, and personally seams slower to me.

butis it a great system, there is nothing wrong with AMD, your friend is just stuck to intel ( as am I )

personally I go intel when I can.

but your system should do you fine with the 2500+

just price them out and see the dif

*edit
I would try to go 2x512 on the mem though

AMD all the way!!!

heh ya.. your friend is a intel guy i'm guessing... no probs with amd that I can think of.. other than what DAD said. (and i would consider that a good thing) ;)

stick with your AMD set up

it will be cheaper, and run close to (if not better) than that intel setup

welcome to de club!

might want to consider a 9700 pro over a 9600 pro if you can find one

we'll just have to wait and see on the vid for doom3

probably be ok on anything that is 9600 pro or better

9700pro? man im on a tight budget.. so i think i stick with 9600pro 128mb..

oh yea btw u pple hav any idea on wad fan will go well with thermalright sp97? cos my case is antec lanboy so i need something thats cool looking and has decent cooling without high noise level. :D
