Finally sold meh lappy, now help me

Current setup, what should I upgrade next?


Samsung 191T LCD
Antec P160 Case
Antec True Blue 480W PSU
Abit IC7 Max 3
P4 2.6C@3.4
1GB Corsair XMS3500 (2X512MB)
2X WD 74GB Raptors in Raid 0
2X WD 200GB SATA HD
1X IBM 120GB HD External Enclosure
1X WD 160GB HD External Enclosure
1X WD 80GB HD External Enclosure
TYAN 9700 Pro
Lite-On 52X Burner
Lite-On 8X DVD +/- Burner

your list looks like an upgrade list for the rest of us! ;)


what about going A64? that would be the biggest jump i think.

Damn dude why do you wanna upgrade that. I agree only an A64 system or maybe a 9800 Pro/XT

Decisions, Decisions.....A64 looks good, but Intel just dropped their newest chipset...... :p

yea, dropped it in the recycle bin because it was defective. LOL

Hmm

With what you have their already you have a nice set-up. I would go with a dual AMD 64 set-up and a couple of SCSI drives. Coupled with a nice vid card, you'll be one fast son-of-a-gun.

SATA Raptors in Raid 0 is plenty fast IMHO. Opteron's not really doing it for me. Looks like a AMD 64 setup for me. Have to research it a bit first look for the right mobo/cpu setup and memory combo to compliment it but looking for something with an excellent SATA Raid chipset.


These are good problems (shopping for Hardware) but agreed a new vidcard is in order, yet this 9700Pro handles everything I throw at it. :cool :
