By far the most amusing Tech Support Call I've heard in a while

Customer: Hi I was wondering if you guys can give me an estimate on damages for my computer equipment because my house got hit by lightning.
Me: That's definately something we can do, if you'd like to bring the components in we can got a head and take a look and get that written up for you.
Customer: Well how long time wise am I looking at and about how much?
Me: Ok well you're looking at about an hour and a half to two hours of labor for us to go through everything depending on the amount of equipment you have. We can also go ahead and look to see if it's just your power supply and whether or not the rest of the computer is salvagable or not.
Customer: Well I think it's pretty much all dead.
Me: Well it could just be the Power supply and we can go ahead and just swap that and see if we can get the rest of the computer up and running.
Customer: No I'm pretty sure it's all dead see lightning literally hit my house. There's a 4 foot hole in my roof and it hit an Ethernet cable run.
Me: Oh...
That's pretty much the amusing part, but the guy brought in his Computer equipment and I took a look at the NIC and the little copper prongs in the connecter are all blown to shit and on the inside the NIC is just fryed. His inkjet printer created so much heat that ink rose through the tops of the cartridges and made an awesome spray pattern on the lid of the printer. My boss said he'd try and get pictures of that before it got outta the shop so if I can get them I'll post em.
