monitor troubles

Post by ShibasScotch »

I just got a second monitor. it is a viewsonic VX900 flat panel.

I got it running on DVI output, and a 19in Samsung 955DF on the VGA output.

I have it spanned horizontal.

my problem is, that when I maximize a window, it speads it across both monitors, and I dont want that. I want to max a window on the monitor that the window is on. I know it is possible, since It does it at work like i want it. Since i am used to it like that now from work, i need it to do it here :) any suggestions ?

oh yea, I have a Gainward GF 4 ti 4200

Check out a program called ultramon- it allows you to do all sorts of cool things with a dual setup

how did you "span" the 2 monitors? is your rez set like 2000x1024? if so its treating the 2 monitors as one. you want to be able to set rez for each monitor seperatly. I have 1024 and a 8x6.

As mentioned above you want Ultramon. Ultramon will give you the option of maximizing to a full moniotr or a full desktop, as well as some other neat features like having different wallpapers, or one wide wallpaper on both monitors.
