Alright listen up you all....knock on wood, toss some salt over your shoulders, whatever it is you all do when your superstitious....ok, ready?
I just had my first hard drive fail on me. Everybody up in here talking about their drives going out on them and all, and here my first one ever fails.......
Two nights ago? I was surfing the web, checking email and stuff, when I hear a click over by the server case. I go over and listen and I hear it again. So I check out the server and open explorer and there were two drives missing. I thought that if I power down and restart it might come back up, but it didn't, it just started clicking again upon start-up and the pc hung up while booting windows.
At least there was one good thing about it. The drive(I think) is empty. I just got 4 new 160's in and set up, so I was able to clear this one as well as several others off so that I could reconfigure the systems for optimal orgainization.
It's also the reason I'm not on DC right now, because it's on the server case and it refuses to boot with it hooked up to it, and I am too tired right now to tear into the case and pull it out and reconfigure the other drive.....the one that failed was master. I think I am going to try the dreezer trick on it and to check and make sure it was empty.
P.S. I sure hope it's still under warranty. These days of little to no warranty has me worried.
