I don't know what the hell happend, I did not have a power surge, a hard re-boot or anything strange but the first partition on my second hard drive is showing up as non-formatted. Checking it under partition magic shows the partition is there but it shows it as non-formated, the same for all the other disk tools I have.

I have 60 plus gigs of MP3s on that drive. Any ideas of what I should do before I format the partition and start the process of ripping ever CD I own again?

Not going to format right away, I am backing up everything of importance right now in case this is a sign of times to come.

Before anyone asks, all indicators were normal until this thing shit the bed, it's been running fine for over six months and now this?????

Help please,

Glass

First of all try running Scandisk on it.

If that doesn't repair it then I can highly recommend Winternals Disk Commander. I've recovered files off completely trashed partitions that were showing up as non-DOS.

Once you salvage your files, I'd run the manufacturer's diagnostic on the drive. Could be you had a crash.

***In other newes today, The RIAA has declared all out war on MP3 Downloaders. 7 Computer hard driver were reported trashed, before the RIAA was completely wiped off the face of the earth.***

Sucks man, That same thing happened to me with one of my anime partitions. Couldnt recover any of it, though I didnt try winternals...
