Time for a mouse replacement

I need to replace my mouse, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Right now I've got the m$ intellimouse explorer (the one with the back/forth buttons on the thumb side. grey, etc). And I like using it.

I know a lot of people here like the wireless ones. How much do the run? I'm not trying to break the bank here. I might just end up with a replacement of the one I've got right now.

thanks for the opinions, guys.

I used to swear by the Intelieye Explorer like you have but got tired of the cord going bad on them. I picked up a Logitech MX500 and love it. It is the same as the one Ego mentioned but with a cord. It has more buttons than the MS and just feels better in my hand I would recommend either the MX 500 or MX 700

Stick with an MS Explorer mouse. Best damn all arround mouse there is.

I've never seen any need for a wireless one.

I too have a mx500. I got it cause its corded. i didnt like the thought of cordless on my main mouse. If you can get the mx510 its got slightly better optics then the 500 and 700.

I used to think that too but I got real tired of calling MS for replacements. The damn cords always shorted out. I dont think I have had one last over a year. Now after using the MX 500 even if the cords lasted on the MS mouse I would still use the MX 500. It is personal preference but I like the feel better and the extra buttons come in handy.

thanks guys. I've never had a problem with the cord on this, but its getting a wear spot under the thumb buttons, and like I said, the wheel is loose as hell. If I use it ,say to rewind a dvd that I'm watching, it'll sometimes move another "notch" and set the dvd to rewind again. So annoying!

yea, the MX line is great. I like the 700 because it is heavier, but the 500 ahd 510 ahve the exact same feel so eithor way you go you are golden.

I tried an MX500 when my last Explorer mouse started acting up. Tried to use it for 4 weeks but I didn't like it. Didn't feel good in my hand and using the buttons in games felt uncomfortable.

Went back to my big comfortable Explorer mouse. :)

I bought a MX Duo combo (MX700) and was having problems with it.

Even after thinking that moving it to a differenet USB port was the solution, it still continued. FINALLY I got it. I moved it a little further away from my monitor. Vioala! I wouldn't go back to a ball mouse ever again.
