CPU Clock setting (BIOS)??

i went for on of the deals at Fry's yesterday for an ECS mobo (K7VTA3 V6.0 / FSB 333/266/200 MHz ) & AMD XP 2200+ combo for around $60. i'm trying to put this system together for a relative.
anyway i got everything running installed and running fine. only question is upon boot-up the bios reads the cpu speed at something around 1.35ghz. shouldn't it display a 1.8ghz speed?
is there a jumper or setting in the bios that i need to change. i was going through the mobo manual and it mentioned it should automatically detect the cpu's speed and settings. i did notice the CPU clock was at 100 in the bios, should this be changed?
unfortunately i really don't understand all these cpu settings, FSB, voltage settings, jumpers, etc. is there a guide out there on the internet for me to read up on or can someone here please explain it in a simple way
