soyo dragon platinum ultra MB multiple . problems to trying to get it to work

first didn't see CD units
second - be getting a color overflow or distortion either right away or with in Min's ! running a geforce fx 5600 128 video card agp.
third now after a couple of Min's I'm getting a Long single beep till i shut off machine by pulling the plug .
sometimes it loads into windows and then after some time it crashes and beeps other times its as soon as windows loads .and and others it happens when i try to do a restart in windows .
OS is windows xp prof.
it was a used mb im not sure if its me or mb - any ideas been on this for hours !

Overheating? You sure the heatsink is properly seated and flush against the CPU?

100 persent didnt do a thing and its still running as i started it and running as im posting this on my other machine .
its so strange .'
i even just got to load drivers from the soyo mb cd that came with the board and do a window restart with no problems !

2 - sticks 2100 ddr ram 256 ,512
1- western digital 120 gig 7200 drive
1- Maxtor 160 gig 7200 drive
chaintech fx5600 128 mg a-fx60 video
1 3 1/2 floppy drive
1- mad dog 52 x burner
1- lite on DVD burner
500 watt power supply
2-60 mm fans in rear ,one 60 mm fan in top , one 60 mm fan in front , one 60 mm fan in side door of case
also one neon case light
running windows xp pro !
PROBLEMS
LONG BEEP -and wont start or if starts will happen after windows been on for a while or when go to turn windows off.
VIDEO DISTORTION- sometimes at startup -and have to shut down - sometimes - no for a while - sometimes none at all !
NO CD OR DVD UNITS - would not see these drives .(fixed )
MOUSE & KEYBOARD - has to be in ps2 ports on mother board -not read in onboard usb ports !.
was loading the 6 xp pro start up disks and had the machine crash as it was reading the 6th disk .
(it has run after doing this ) and i did do it again so not a problem i think )and installed well after problems began.
what i have done !
reset set and installed cpu with - new silver paste 3 times
cleared bios - lots of times and started fresh
reset or replaced cords /cables
reset video card -and reset video votages in bios from 1.5 to 1.6 to 1.7
also reset votage to ram
reset all power plugs in diffrent arays

i get the long beep too w/ mine. i just hit reset while it's whining and it works fine. not sure about the vid card thing. i don't suppose your's is still under warranty is it?

swapped a ATI 64 mg in the board and still doing the same thing !
now i have no questions in my mind its a bad board !

yeah the new soyos kinda suck..... my old dragon plus was great though

check AGP voltage, a long beep can mean it can't find the video card.
If the card is underpowered, then it wouldn't show up all the time, provoking mr beep, nor would it draw the screen properly!

actually now that i think about it the long beep is most likely a problem with the ram, at least thats how it was with my soyo... so have you tried reseating it?
also try running the system with only one stick in at a time, if that works you can try running both but put them in slots 1 and 3, ive noticed that motherboards dont like mismatched pairs sitting right next to each other....
