Mouse pad with an optical mouse?

Post by MegaVectra »

What are you using? My new MX700 works great on my desk, but the surface isn't slick enough. What do you suggest?

I just use a basic fabric mouse pad that you can buy everywhere for 2 bucks. Works great and is nice and smooth.

Oh i forgot to mention that since this mouse is casterated you don't gotta worry about the lint sticking on the wheels :D

Ratzpad!!!! It will make that MX 700 feel like it is on ball bearings. Thing is indestructible and can be washed in water and soap when it gets dirty

I believe you're right that is a MX500. But I believe he's referring to the enhanced performance that MegaVectra will realize from the RatzPad with his MX700. Just like he got with his MX500. :D

What do you like better about the Func Surface 1030? How are they different from the Ratpadz?

right now...I am using a ratpadz GS. It was great when I first got it, but its so worn in now that it just sucks. Even mouse tape isnt making it as slick as it once was

I am borrowing an Icemat from nexus ATM. Very slick with the mouse tape on it

And any cloth surface is great too, just clean your mouse every once in awhile on the feet.
Gone for good. But never say never

How the hell did you wear it out? I have had mine for about 4 yrs and I cant tell any difference in it now compared to when I first got it. The texture on the mousing surface is the same and shows no wear pattern in the center where I use it most compared to the edges which hardly ever see a mouse.

The Ratpadz surfice feels a little rougher than the Func 1030. There are two sides to the Func and I use my MX700 on the smoother side.

Another vote for the Ratpadz. Been using one for like 5 years now and even replaced my original one with a GS and the GS is better. I also have a MX700 and it slides like butter in a hot pan.

i use a legal size manila folder - no edges to worry about, ou can take notes on it and if it gets funky you've go 4 sides to use before you toss it :)
