WinXP keeps forgetting the mouse wheel setting...

Post by FlyingPenguin »

Anyone ever see a problem like this? I set my wheel setting in the mouse settings in control panel to scroll 3 lines at a time. Everytime I reboot it resets back to 1 line. Rather annoying.

I could just place a registry hack in the startup to reset it every time I boot, but that shouldn't be necessary,

This is my Dell laptop. Using a Logitech optical mouse with no Mouseware installed. However the Synaptics driver for the touchpad is installed (and I'd rather not uninstall that because I use the touch scroll feature).

I've started seeing this problem on my MS Intellimouse explorer 3.0 in the last week. Out of the blue, it just started forgetting any programmed buttons on bootup. If I open and close intellimouse software, it works just fine. :help
