Fast pc clock

The clock on my main pca had been running 3-7 minutes fast but now it's getting worse. It gained 24 minutes in less than 12 hours. Anyone hear of this, or what causes it? My guess would be the battery.

Having this problem blade.. I'd be interested to find out what can be causing it.. Don't know if the setup would help or not.. But I'm running :
epox 8RDA+
1700+ B core @ 2.1ghz
512MB Corsair XMS Platinum
Nobody seemed to know the answer to this one time when I posted before. lol.. Hope somebody can figure it out this time..

Annoying isn't it. But not vital. Though I usually depend on my pc clock for the time.
Running a shuttle an35n ultra and a 2500@3200.

That I don't like is getting up at 6:30 in the AM and going to the car at 6:45 only to find out it is 6:15!!! and I could have slept for like 30 more minutes.. lol..

Some mobos do that - dunno why. Sometimes changing the CMOS battery helps. Sometimes overclocking has something to do with it.
However if you're running XP, you're on broadband, and you have Internet time sync enabled, it shouldn't be a problem.

I use a utility called atomic clock sync. It works well. I was able to stop pulling my hair out trying to figure out what was causing it to be inaccurate. You can find it here:

The PC at work always runs fast too and even stranger is that this has occured there with 2 totally different PCs in the same location. No other problems exist with the PC and it's done this since it was new so I doubt it's anything like a battery problem. I too just use the atomic clock sync program (use this on all my PCs) and that cures the problem as it automatically syncs the PC daily.

Atomic Clock Sync works great, just don't install it on an XP system unless you disable XP's built-in clock sync.

Since using that the time is more accurate. A few times I've had to 'ping now', but that's easy.
