Hey guys, just a long time lurker strolling in to ask a question. First the description of my thoughts...

I'm thinking about upgrading from a P3 700mhz/100 to a P3 1Ghz/133 and I'm only using PC100 SDRAM memory right now. My question is, would I be able to use my PC100 memory to work for a P3 1Ghz/133 or would it just be better to buy some PC133 RAM?

Thanks in advance guys. :)

While it's possible, it depends very much on the quality of your PC100.
Personally i would opt for PC133 and negate any headaches i may come across with the PC100 if the sticks are not up to scratch..

Yeah really depends on memory. For example I got a 128mb stick of Micron -8e PC100 running at 146mhz. So mine would work, most likely if ur ram is generic it will cough at 133mhz. I had a stick of generic pc100 that would only do 103mhz before i got alot of errors and whatnot.

It also depends on your mobo, some have the ability to clock the memory down to 100 or 66 mhz.
