MOBO starting...then stopping...

firstly on a previous case... seems ALL my PC problems are taken care of.. no more over heating and I think Halo is back into working order.. so cool ;)

NEW case...
I have a friends motherboard an ECS K7VZA now, something is up with this thing, I have all the jumpers back to original config, and when I short the power jumper it turns the PS fan on and there is 2 seconds of it being on, then it shuts off...
the mobo doesn't boot anything onto the screen.. it just goes on and off...

I have had similar to this happen before, but I cleared the CMOS and it worked after that...no such luck with this rig..
now I have the mobo sitting on an antistatic bag on a desk, and attatched to the PS which is also on the desk, I have tried 2 sticks of ram, one 128 megger and a 32 megger...

the CPU in it is a Duron 1.3 ghz...now here's the thing.. I looked at the specs for this thing and it says it can only do up to a Duron 800mhz? or 1 gig... I can't remember...

now could THAT be causing this? I thought that the board would just default the chip to whatever the speed it could handle... but maybe not...

any ideas??
what does a 1.3 duron run at for FSB?

thanks guys!

ATX Connector..

Make sure the ATX power connector is seater properly.. I've had that happen to me with certain PSUs that wouldn't seat right with the ATX connector for some reason.. eGo

Sounds like a PSU to me. Try a different one.

ok I got it to stay on continuously... I used the jumpers to take it from 100 x2 FSB to 133x2 so now it stays on untill I short the power for 4 seconds... like normal

it just doesn't give a boot screen...
??

damn it I wish I had a working crap vid card here to test with...
