Well as my computer is about to be done, I just gotta get a new vid card for it.. I could put my GF4 MX 420 from my current computer but that would hurt a little.. I have the money to buy.. My freind told me to wait until after christmas for prices to drop.. I'm almost certain I will get a 9500 Pro.. Do you recommend it? Or another?

Prices will probably drop after Xmas but that is always the case and whenever you buy a week to a month later something better will be cheaper. 9500 Pro is a great card but getting hard to find. I just got a 9600 Pro they are cheaper than the 9500, easier to find and perform damn good.

Where did you buy your 9600 Pro? And how much was it?

I sold one on the forums not long ago. I also presently have a 5700ultra with DDR2 memory im looking to off. but prices always drop.
And if you are looking for a 9600. I honestly would sugest a 9600 aiw PRO. It has Faster memory! and you can still OC the core it pretty heavy. THus making it faster then the XT.

I love my Sapphire 9500 NP that I soft-modded. I've had no problems with the mod on 3 of these cards from All Star Shop so far. I am currently running mine at 350 core/310 mem with no problems.
You can still get them
here for $155. Make sure you get the red PCB version with the 'L' shaped memory configuration.

I just need a good vid card that will handle the upcoming dx9 games.. I know those will.. Also would you recomend a OEM vid card? Dont really see why it would matter all the wires and software come with it... Is Allstarshop a fast, reliable site?

I just picked up a 9500 np from all star shop and it did the softmod to a 9700 with no problem - running mine at 350/300 - it is significantly faster than both the 9500 pro and the 9600 pro - it is a sapphire red pcb l shaped memory -

it was about a week - i always use whatever is cheapest - i've bought a few things from them in the past without any problems- the softmod is not a lock though - there are lots of ones in the fs/ft threads at AT that don't make it
