RAM Question

Ok I'm building a new system for myself and I'm a little confused on ram choices.
I'm going to get:
ABIT NF7-S
XP 2800+ 333
- Is the performance gain of having CL 2-2-2-5 worth the price over CL2.5
- Will CL2.5 DDR400 accept aggressive timings 2-2-2-5 @ 333mhz?
- In order to do dual mode, the ram has to be the same exact type, does single-sided double sided
come in to play?
Can someone make some reccommendations for 2 x 256?
Thanks in advance.

The ram does not have to be an exact match to run in dual mode. I have one Samsung and one Nanya in dual mode on an Epox 8RDA+.

Thanks for the response. So I guess that means that it doesn't matter if one is one-sided and the other is double sided.

I have mixed and matched a bunch on the dual ddr stuff and hasent really mattered at all.
a 2.5 400 should easly run 2.0 333 and if it is quality ram then it could probably 2.0 at 400

After looking around I think I'm gonna buy some OCZ stuff form newegg.com. Pretty much gauranteed to do 2-2-2-5 1T. Thanks so much for everyone's help. All I need now is an OS....
It's Your Choice.

But I'd stay away from OCZ if I were you.. It's a horror story around here.. Just do a search for it in the forums and you'll see why we don't like it..

I stand corrected about my geil comments in the PM I sent you before then Mage.. I at one point in time thought people were going against geil.. But it would appear I remembered wrong.. I would like to add one to Greg's list.. which is Corsair.. eGo

corsair is vood, so is hyperX but both are Very expensive.
Yea, I origonally thought Geil was just another OZC company but it isnt. they are on the side of right.

Corsair is worth the money. Highest stability and lowest latency. Geil is right up there. Avoid OCZ.
