Do you keep your rig quiet?

ANyways, I coat nearly the entire inside of my rig with Dynamat, use quiet fans, use rubber washers where I can to reduce vibration, and have a fan controler on my rig.

i bought a dell...they are quiet. ;)

hehe. besides that, i haven't done anything to my home-built systems. they used to be L O U D...but the days of me putting up with 8000rpm cpu fans and such are over. the next pc i build will use some of what you mentioned hopefully.

My new Antec case has rubber shock mounts for the hard drive and a big-ass Antec 120mm fan on the back. In combination with an Antec temp controlled 80mm fan on the CPU heat sink it's a VERY quiet rig.

Now I need to quiet my server.

A dell would be a good solution. I have 5 panaflo L1A 80mm fans and a enermax psu to keep my computer quiet.

I turn mine off! ;)

Sorry Greg, couldn't help myself there :D

I have 6 computers in the house and the noise is very different between them all. Noisiest part seems to be the psu fan for me. I have an enlight 250w fan thats almost silent even with the side off the box but runs an old P3.

I have an enermax 430w psu with the fan control but even on low its noisy in the high tower.

I'd like to try one of those Antec Sonata cases now.

Sunbeam fan controller. Even my psu has control for the fans.

Not having a side window helps keep things quieter also. And it seems to me that an aluminum case is quieter than a steel one, just doesn't echo as much.

I've noticed hard-drive rails seems to reduce vibration noise, so I use a case with those. I also use dynamat (right on nexus_7!). My zahlman cooler has a big slow fan, it generates very little noise, the 4 80's (2 in & 2 out) i have moving air in the case all run to a fanbus, but I find that I dont reduce my speeds very often since ditching a black label fan and going for the Zahlman.
