Hi, does anyone know where I can obtain an adapter to connect a USB device to a serial port?

I've seen many adapters for serial device to USB pc port, but not the other way around. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You're NOT going to find an adapter that allows you to connect a USB device to a serial port. No such animal.

Hey MegaVectra, I've already seen the adapters you linked to. But all those are for USB port to Serial device - I'm looking for an adapter that does it the other way around. I want to use a USB Wacom tablet on a machine with serial ports. Thanks anyway though.

Penguin, this is for the same machine you gave me advice on regarding the Matrox card. It seems you're right (barring any unforeseen product developments). Is there no way to create some kind of connection or mod? This machine is running WinNT which makes the situation more difficult.

USB is a BUS communications system. Serial is not. Serial is also much slower.

Also WinNT has no support for USB at all (MS was going to support it but then dropped it when they realized that sales of Win2K would suffer - BASTARDS).

If it wasn't for lack of USB support I'd still be running NT Pro on dedicated business systems. Nice clean fast and stable OS with no bloat. :(

You could upgrade to Win2K for USB support. You can also add a USB card PCI card to the computer if it doesn't have a USB port, but again you'd have to upgrade to Win2K.

NT also doesn't have native support for dual monitors to my knowledge unless I'm mistaken.
