ok this si the deal my pc only starts up when it wants thqat is the first problem. it starts up maybe one a day if i'm lucky... when it does start up it runs for about 10 minuites and then i get a black screen... i think its not a short because the short would not happen that consitently...any suggestion
i have a ecsk75a mobo..

Had a similar experience with a K7S5A. It turned out to be the mainboard.

I had that too.. You may have to RMA the board. Are your fans and stuff still spinning, or is it just shutting off completely? It could also be your video card is overheating, but that is all dependant on the case style, and usually a reboot with an overheating video card will get you back into windows and won't happen again unless you're doing something graphics intensive ie. games.. my fans and stuff are still spinning and i don't think it is an overhearting video card at all i got a geforce 3 and no intense gaming

I have 2 ECS K7S5As one which is fixing to go in for RMA for the exact symptoms you describe. Have you tried clearing the CMOS? I cleared mine for an hour and still only the fans spin and nothing else. So you may want to contact them for an RMA.. GL eGo

We scrifized 1 to the ciomputer gods at PCALAN- its caps were the fireworks finally

I tried to get a that mobo. First one was doa so I rma'd it. The replacement was also doa. They ignored me after that.


You might try it with just the basics to see, and even with it out of the case and on something non conductive. Maybe a different psu too. But it does sound like the mobo.
