here is a grounded cable
Features:
Wrapped with nylon mesh for maximum air flow improvement
40-pin 80-conductor cable, ATA133/100/66/33 compliant for high speed data transfer (A26 IDE cable)
Highly flexible 26" round cable (16" + 10") with two device connections, one motherboard connector.
Shielded with aluminum foil and braided silver mesh with ground, for maximum shielding

but the trick is, you have to solder that ground to another wire then place it in your mouth at all times or the computer will explode.

The one I checked out didn't offer that much better performance.

Though it might be better using a shorter 18" one.

Can't see what the purpose of the gound wire is. The ribbon is already grounded thoroughly through the connector.
It's possible it has a shield, but I doubt it, that would be an expensive cable.
Either way, it's not necessary.
