Should i upgrade from an AX-7 to a slk800u?

Post by Absolut Talent »

i read the reviews on the front page comparing them.....and there was a few degrees difference (in favor of the slk800u). But is it worth the upgrade from the ax-7 to a slk800u? (800u cause it has the prong clip and my mobo doesnt have any mounting holes)

I do plan on upgrading my processor from the xp1800 pal to a 2200/2400 tbred or a 2500barton in the future

Sorry, the 800u is the bolt version, the regular 800 uses the 3 prong clip. :)

I think its worth it, cause it's copper and you can probably fit a 92mm fan on it. :)

The difference is just a few c, depending on the fan you use. If I only had an ax7, I would not upgrade. It still cools suffeciently enough.

But if I had some moola burning a hole in me pockets....

:d

And as Sean said, the slk800U is the one that bolts to the mobo. The slk800 or slk800a are the ones with the clips.

well right now, the case it would be in is running 2x 120mm sunons (dunno the exact specs on them..) and a 80mm sunnon on the ax-7 (only does about 50cfm)

but its all good, i have grown accustomed to sleeping with them running full blast
