Boot.INI

Ok I formated my computer by using another HD to transfer all my file to then moving em back, and in the process I just decided to set everything up on a Dual Boot. Now I successfully deleted the old harddrive from the dual boot up menu but now for some reason it still loads to the Dual Boot menu and i have a choice of Windows 2000 Professional which is the one I use and Windows (Default) or something like that. I went in and removed it from my Boot.ini so just Windows 2000 Professional is in there but it still takes me to the daul boot menu and that default is still an option. I'm not sure if I'm just forgetting or what it is but I can't figure out how to remove that option so it just selections the first choice and loads right to windows with out going to the Dual Boot menu.

This is my Boot.INI

[boot loader]
timeout=30
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

Any input is welcome. Thanks

You could go to:
Control Panel / System / Advanced / Startup and Recovery
There's a dropdown for "System Startup / Default OS" (this setting sets the OS to boot when you make no selection), check what is set there. It should be "Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect ... if it is still set to your Windows (Default) whatever try to change it.

So it does start W2k as default ? In that case disable the "Display list of OS for x secs" Option at the same location. It should boot like a regular single OS installation.

That's the thing though see when it loads to the boot menu it has the Default one highlighted so I can't just let it run down the timer and select it I have to be there to watch so I can press the up arrow and hit enter to go to the Windows 2000 Professional one. So yea Default is below Win 2000 Prof. but it selects that one first. Weird I know. I was gonna just try that disable list box but then I remember that it doesn't just pick that one if it did then I wouldn't have a problem giving it a shot. :o
