I have been having the worst time with this damn thing.
It is a KDS XFlat series monitor and every time I turn the monitor off etc. I have to reset the whole damn thing to look right.
I downloaded the driver, I have looked all over the net for problems people may have had I just cant figure it out, It did it on the last monitor I had that was a KDS as well.
And it has happened through a ti 4600, an ati 9500 pro and now a 9700 pro radeon.
any thoughts please let me know.

If I understand you, whenever you turn off the monitor it forgets it's video position settings?
That has nothing to do with drivers - the monitor is defective. There's some memory in the monitor that remembers the settings when the power is turned off.
I have a KDS XFlat 19" myself - nice monitor, Just don't EVER clean the screen with ANYTHING but alcohol or a cleaning spray designed for LCDS and monitor screens. The XFlat has an anti-glar coating that wil be destroyed by ammonia. If you try to clean it with windex you'll notice rainbow colored streaks when the monitor's turned off.

I have 3 of the 17" Xflat monitors, they are normal CRT not LCD, do they make Xflats n LCD? I never looked at those.
Anyway the only time any of mine lose settings is when the power is unplugged or turned off! You don't have yours plugged into a power block of some type you turn off do you? I have done that before! I use a high powered 6 outlet block connected to the UPS, then turn off the switch to kill the speakers and scanner and I lose monitor settings too!!
Otherwise I would geuss defective.
I always figured they should use a battery like bios does to save settings on these things, then when you move across the room you would still have your settings!

I understand its not a driver issue, i posted that b/c usually it is asked, I dont have it powered by anyhting but my power strip but I dont turn it off, I actually dont even turn the monitor off any more b/c of this, BUT I have had 2 so far of this type that did the same thing, and a 19" that also did the same thing.
Any way I said screw it today and took my monitor here back to Office Depot and used to pay towards a viewsonic p95F so far so good.
thanks for the reply though!

I geuss sometimes we all get something a bit buggy, I never had that type problem with my 3 I have now. I have recently (several times in last month) had my newest one flash at me. Just real fast like a white flash or something, so fast you know it happened, but not what it was

Don't know if it is monitor or the ATI card, both work perfectly it seems. Not often enough that swapping montiors between systems can really tell what it is. Rarely happens, and when it does you have to be watching right then.
Anyway, to bad you didn't find the problem, but good you could exchange it for something else.
One last thought on it though, do you have any power problems or was it on a ups?
I put mine on the UPS now because of our crappy power outs and surges, but before I did sometimes we would have just a second outage and my monitor would lose the settings, (same as unpluging it).
