heya, just picked up a philips cd burner on a clearence cheap
gonna use it while my 48x cendyne lite on is going to RMA

its a 24x12x40
It has "seemless link" technology
and a 8mb buffer

anyone know anything about this drive- who actually makes it?

Cant beat the 16.54 i paid for it, cant even pick up a 40x cd drive for that

funnything is when i google seamless link, i got a pca review on almost the identical drive a 20x10x40
It seems to be a fairly quick drive, although the article makes no mention of who actually makes the drive

i did the review on the philips 20x burner...i'll check tonight on the actual manufacturer. i had a 40x (also philips) to review...but it was DOA. power calibration errors and wouldn't burn a thing.

Boy i sure hope mine isnt doa , as i just dyed the vinyl on it
well for 16.00 i dont really care- thats why it was such an easy purchase- need something i could deface for cheap

i had a phillips 8x that i got on of those 20 after rebate deals years ago - did fine for me for 2 years, replaced it with a 40x lite on but it's still working for the guy i gave it to

hmmm...i'm looking at a PCRW2010 now and it doesn't specify any other manufacturer than Philips. they may be the original manufacturer of them...they were one of the companies that developed the CD to begin with.

wasn't it Denon, Philips, and Sony or something like that that first created them?
