well i have a client that i built a computer for and it had integrated video because thats what he wanted..... cele 2.0 256 ddr but then his son wanted more power so they went out and bought a geforce4 mx 440 from some little store.... they said they installed the video card and try it but to no avail..... so i installed it for them and they didnt disable the on board video so...... yea i did that... but then the computer would make a post beep..... then and beep same length then a short one total of 3 sometimes it'll just be 2 same length ones..... and then i smelled burning but i quickly turned off the comp and no more burning smell there after sooo what could be wrong.... im thinking faulty piece of geforce 4 but ur suggestions??????

thanks in advance......

Well, you should probably double check that everything else still works. Take out the GF4 and run with onboard video. if that's the case, replace the card. Probably just a dud.

what kinda of powersupply you got in that system?

i know that despite being a lower end card, they need atleast a 250w psu as stated in the system requirements

i think thats all the help I can provide :D

also, you can usually check the beep codes in the manual. usually under troubleshooting, but it should be in there.

hope it all turns out ok
