got a new problem
befor i f'ed with it, it worked fine but i tryed to install a sound card of my borthers
because the card wouldn't work in his box with xp (i was hoping that it was just the mobo not playin nice)
i got board and tryed it in mine now
when i hit the power i get the voodoo5 bios b.s.
and the memory check, it finds the hard drive
and then after a few sec the screen cuts out its like the vid card stops sending a single but the hard drive is still goin
there is no network, sound, dvd, cd-rom
just the vid card

I had the same problem with my wife's pc last month. I thought it was the video card, but even swapping it with another card did the same thing. So then I installed a PCI video card I had laying around and it worked. So I guess the AGP slot quit working. I trashed the mobo as it was an old Abit LX6.

A friend of mine got the same problem he realized that he burned the AGP slot because the generated power to the audio card was 1amp incorrect so , that amp was rigth to the agp slot we don't know how but that was the problem .
maybe in some point there is a link between them.
