Thanks to ChottoEd... got a good deal from him on an Epox 8RDA+ mobo, Athlon XP 2200+, 2 Mushkin 256MB PC2400 DDR (those will probably go in the old system and I'll move my 1gb of PC2100 into the new one) and SLK 700 HSF.

My old Iwill XP333 w/XP 2000+ and the new Mushkin will get turned into my LAN party/ loaner rig which will be a nice upgrade over my old AMD 1200 LAN party system which a friend is going to get. The LAN party rig also has my old GF3 Ti200 in it since I upgraded to a GF4 T4800SE a few months ago.

Looking forward to hitting the Red-Eye LAN in Miami more often this year. That's where I'll be this saturday, although the new rigs won't be ready for it. My AMD 1200 will have to suffice this time around.

:cool

make sure that the cooling on the northbridge is ok, at a minimum replace the thermal pad with decent goop and make sure that there is some decent ventilation - i have a 90 mm case fan blowing across mine and it makes a big difference

Your conversion to the dark side is nearly complete. Now you must purchase a Radeon 9800, and you will be one with us. :p

You can have my Geforce4 when you pry it from my cold dead hands.... or if NVidia keeps making loser cards like the GeforceFX :D

Sicne I got the GF4 a few months ago, and I see no reason to upgrade until HF2 and Doom3 come out, I probably won't be looking at a vid card upgrade until Xmas.

When that happens I'll get the card that gives me the best performance for the money (and doesn't sound like a leaf blower engine). If that card is a Radeon so be it.

while you're playing with the pc2400, see what kind of benches you get running the cpu and the mem in synch at 166. the nice thing about the nforce mobos is that they unlock tbreds, so you just have to find the right multi to stay at stock speed. I read some articles which suggested that was the peak efficieny for this mobo.
