Sound card question

Post by swinada »

I was looking around for a cheap sound card. Found this http://www.aopen.com/products/sound/aw850.htm
anybody any experience with this card? good or bad.
Would be using it on a ECS board with Celery chip (2Ghz) and GeForce MX 400 videocard. Running ME, may be XP.
All the best from the west!

That's the c-media 8738, it is excellent. To me it sounds better and richer than a live value card. Cannot beat it for the price. ;)

My Asus mobo has this chip built-in. Was originally gonna disable it in favor of a SoundBlaster, but it worked fine, sounded good, so I'm still using it...

I don't think so, but check over their site to be sure.

Dosnt appear so, but it still looks like a damn fine solution 6.1 , 100db signal to noise, 96k sample rate- all those things are comparble to audigy and santa cruz audio
