Got the Aero7 in today so I haven't done much testing. Here are some pics: http://www.pcabusers.com/reviews/coolermaster/aero7/

The heatsink design is nothing new, though it is a bit larger than their previous heatsinks. Main thing is the unique fan. Coolermaster specs say it goes from 1900-4500 rpm's. Mobo monitor says 1529-4687. It is only quiet at around 2500 rpm's. After that it gets loud, like a blow dryer. Though not nearly as bad as most delta fans. And far more tolerable than a tornado fan. Mainly there is no noticable high pitched sound. But still too loud for me past 3000 rpm's.

Some slight testing so far, and keep in mind I just installed it today . For max load temp I ran the prime 95 cpu torture test for at least 45 minutes. Had a SK7/stealth in my second system in a lanboy case/xp1700+, it keeps the cpu at:

Idle - 38c
P95 - 42c

Freshly installed Aero7 in same system running at 2556 rpm's, the lowest speed I could not hear it:

idle - 38c
P95 - 43c

Now running it full blast:

idle - 34c
p95 - 37c

I took the fan off and tested it with it not on the heatsink. Unfortunately the airflow is not even. Looking at this pic, the airflow is strongest on the left side and is definitely not centered. It would have been more effective had the airflow been centered, naturally.

But, I like the fan. It does have great potential and Coolermaster is on the right track with it. Imagine a fan like this on a SLK800 or SK7. But, how to fit it is for another time. :D

And that clip makes it the easiest to install heatsink there is. Well, next to the dr thermal.

Now all we need is one of those fans with some LED's in em. Man, that'd be awesome. :D

so, Is it a 80mm bolt up patern? if its a 60mm i want one and ill mod it with LEDs and put it on my Coolermaster heat pipe HS... it will be even better then it is now!

It's larger than a 60mm, but smaller than a 80mm. Perhaps 70mm, but I'm not positive.

Figures, a great fan that nobody can use. just like the TMD. if it was 80 or 60 it would kick ass!

Think twice before buying it, the fan QC is not good, many of our Aero 7 in Hong Kong had the fan burnt, if you are unlucky, it burnt the CPU also.

I had given the fan to Consumer Council and they would test the fan to me.

Coolermaster did not post re-call notice offically in Hong Kong and refused to do so. But they did take back all the stock from Hong Kong.

Problems on Aero 7 (subspected):

The fan leaf cannot stand for high temperature from the motor, if you use a low speed on < 3000rpm, the motor will be very hot and the leaf will be degraded. If it is so unlucky, the fan will be burnt.

It maybe a joke, but the temp solution for me was:

Put a Delta 8cm case fan in front of the Aero 7 to cool the motor.

Do you mean this happens over or under 3000rpm?

Now that you mention it, I noticed at the higher rpm's the motor does feel warmer. On lower speeds it doesn't.

If this is a problem then I hope they get this worked out before it is sold in mass. Something like this could really hurt a company. Not to mention make for a whole bunch of very unhappy people.

Thank you very much for the info qualcomm. :) And welcome to pca.

I think he means under 3000. at that speed the air flow is low enuff to allow the motor to over heat. That to me doesnt make sence... but it a vauge way i can understand how somthing like this can happen.
