I Finally bought a compaq presario model 2140US , xp2200 , DVD - CDr, 512 ddr 2100 , Ati 64 shared , it is a pretty good computer , for $1099 , with a free HP printer. ! of course everything After rebates , now the problem is that I have to fill the rebate and they need the Part number serial ( 12 digits) I cant find it ! please advice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try looking on the bottom it will also have a barcode.. It may also be on the inside of anything that opens on the lappy.. Could be on the manual too.. Might just send them an email asking where it is.. GL eGo

I decided to make a call to compaq service , and I did request the part number , they told me that the number was in the back of the lappy , I had to open where you place the memory , in order to see the F**** part number , so , If you are a ordinary person and you dont have much experiencie in computers you probably wont get the rebate , otherthing is that you are suppoused to fill the "12 digits number " however the number is 6 digits , it is so tricky !
