Question about com ports & win98
Question about com ports & win98
I have some guy's AOL box over here and the only port listed in device manager is the printer port. When I check the modem properties it says it's working properly but it shows as being on com 5. I haven't done dial up in ages so could somebody tell me why com1 and com2 aren't listed in the device manager and how I can get the modem off of com5? Appreciate it in advance.......

first make sure they are enabled in the bios. You might also have to move the modem to different pci slots to get it to work. some times it helps some times it doesnt. Ot tell the guy to get DSL. even a better idea.

Thanks Pugsley. Worked like a charm. I was too tired when I was messing with it the first time. Appreciate the response.
