If the DVD uses Macrovision copy protection and you're using the latest NVidia drivers, and your card has TV out, the DVD won't play on your computer. I'm told some ATI drivers do this as well.

I'm told the 40.x NVidia drivers don't have this problem. I may roll back my drivers for that reason.

who released it?

I know ive heard that title, but forgot who released it.

Kinda wierd that it doesnt read it. What software you using to watch it?
I used powerDVD 3.0. Had no probs. Then I upgraded to powerdvd 4.0/XP and had some troubles reading the newer discs. So I dropped back down to 3.0

Did your buddy have any problems when playing the dvd?

i have an older dvd player for pc that also wont play some titles. like triple x and spiderman. but i used a dvd decrypter to get around it (hey i have a 1.4g and a 60 gb hdd why not) then i used power dvd to play the decrypted demacrovisioned vob files in file mode. (take that biatch) :D
