grr..been trying to install a modem on my kt7 raid
win me/256 kingmax pc 150/duron 700/tntu
first tried usb modem w/ rockwell chipset. installed drivers, etc. , could never get it to function - got a winmodem, it installs and passes diagnostics test, but does not show up when you click modems - when you go to second modem screen it shows
com1 no modem
com2 no modem
com3 (just a little icon on the left at com3 , but no modem name, etc.) it will run diagnostics from there but

when i try to set up a dial up account it says no modem - please install etc.

also after modem is installed, if you click on control panel/modems it shows no modem installed and wants to install one, even though there is one installed and working according to diagnostics

i have loaded the latest 4/1 drivers, but in my original install they were not loaded after the os, but after nic, sound and video were autodetected -

any ideas appreciated ! i have used latest available drivers for modems thanks!

I also have a kt7 (non raid) and was having troubles with my modem (isa hardware modem).

I had to go into the bios and disable com2. I also manually assigned irq 5 to the isa slot (not sure if that helped but i know it didn't hurt). After that everything seem to work fine.

Before i did the bios thing it would show up under the modems tab and looked fine under hardware tab in systems. But when i would click on the more info button i'd get a conflict and a msg to the effect that com2 was aready in use by another device. go figure.

Not sure if this will work for you but maybe it'll get you thinking.

still not there yest
tried another winmodem and an isa modem
winmodem installed fine, same problem as the other winmodem

isa modem was detected , installed, but still didn't show up under the control panel/modem tab

at least the winmodem would show up on the second tab of the modems and would verify - even though all it showed was a com3 icon

this is a pain!
