It would appear that RAM prices are inching up. I was waiting for "bottom" at Crucial's website, and noticed the price went up about $3 for a stick of 512 PC2700. I almost bit.

However, Crucial was gonna charge me tax. Even with the 5% off coupon, they couldn't beat NewEgg's price of $72 (with free shipping). I saved about $25 on a gig. And as we all know, these price fluctuations are sometimes rather dramatic.

Just a head's up. If you think it might go down again, go for it (or "wait" for it, to be more precise)...but history has shown it usually doesn't happen that way. And $144 for a gig of Crucial is pretty darn sweet, and you can't really go wrong with NewEgg (don't gimme a hard time, Gregg

I work at Spruce Country Computers/Radio Shack in Canada and prices are still going down monthly

i am thinking of picking up 2sticks of 512mb pc2700 from crucial as soon as I get the money. Not bad for 161 shipped.

Where did you get $161 shipped? My search at crucial.com showed it's still $164+tax.

In any case, NewEgg upped their price a dollar...it's now $146 for two sticks

opps.....i was off by $3, and I never really consider tax cause its not that much
