Hello once again everyone,

Just wanted to ask a quick question....I just bought another 512 MB stick of RAM...bringing my total up to 1 Gig of RAM....so, my question is....can I disable Virtual Memory in Win XP now...or would everyone suggest that I leave it, just in case? Thanks for the help...I know a friend that disabled his, and he didn't notice any problems....but I just wanted to ask you guys...b/c I trust ya.

Thanks for the help,

Matt

saddly you have to leave it, some STUPID programs require it. :(

Set it to the minimum of 2 megs. I have always set mine equal to the amount of ram I have installed. I set the min and max for the same amount.

You can disable it. Some programs may malfunction though. I say give it a shot and see what happens.

I say just leave it on, but make it a fixed size, like 300MB min/max .... this won't hurt your system, no problems with st00pid programs that want virtual memory and the fixed size gives no additional fragmentation from the pagefile.
