general micron memory info ! must read !

i spoke to micron/ crucial about some bad memory i have !
was told by there tech dept. if there is no label from crucial on the ram you are S.O.L.
for any kind of replacement !
unless you have the sales slip and return it to the seller ! (good luck with the seller )
they will not warrienty the memory !

Ahh, I know those labels, they have many numbers etc. and say "please, remove me to void your warranty" or something like that :p

I guess the main reason is that many other manufacturers also use micron chips on their own PCB. There're not many ways to tell whether it's a Crucial stick or not.

- the LABEL :D

- the SPD-EPROM ... but those are not always reliably programmed by the memory manufacturers ... and why check it when you have the LABEL :D

- Forget about the chips, they say Micron on Crucial sticks and on other brandname sticks ... but you can always check the LABEL :D

I don't think the PCB itself has any indicators, so lets forget about that. The labels stick pretty good and shouldn't get lost during normal use.
