Computer won't start

hey guys, here's something about my bro's computer that i have a question about. i'm pretty sure it's the PS, but wanna see if you guys have any other ideas...

My bro brought his comp home for christmas and ever since it was having problems starting... he would press the power button and instead of powering up it would make a very rapid quiet clicking sound.. it would take a few button pushes of this and then it would start normal... the past week, it's been taking a few dozen pushes before it would start, and today it won't start at all...

the PS is an old 230 watt ATX PS that's about 4 years old so i think that's it.. when you puss the power button, it just clicks, no fans nothing... i only hope it's not the mobo that's causing this, but if it was the mobo, wouldn't the PS fans still start up???

any advice would be appriciated. thanks

have you tried putting it in another system?

It could be a bad switch on the case.

what are the computer specs anyways? Maybe it is time for a new ps anyways :D

just went out and bought a switch, thankfully it was the switch that was faulty... thanks for the reply :)
